Payment Schedule

1. The first payment will be due at the meet-the-team night on Friday, November 30, 2007. This initial payment covers all equipment, registration and administrative fees. The amount of this payment will vary per team.

2. The second payment will cover all coaching fees through the end of the season. This payment will be due on Friday, January 4, 2008. Again, this payment will vary per team.

See Monthly Coaching Fee schedule on this page.
3. The final payment will cover all travel costs and will be determined once a final travel schedule has been set. It will be due on Friday,  February 8, 2008.

Travel costs can range from approximately $300 to $700. If a team travels out of state more than once, these costs will increase.
Note: Your payments and total costs may be different than those for other teams. Total costs are based on what team you play on, how much fundraising you do, and how much your team travels.

Remember that payments are due on the 10th of the month. Please send with enough time to allow the payments to be received by the 10th.


Fundraising

There will be fundraising opportunities available for athletes that want to help offset the cost of playing. One major fundraiser is selling advertisements to local businesses for our program. Athletes may keep 100% of what they sell.

Note: Ad's will be due no later than January 18, 2008.



2007-08 Fees and Payments

1. Registration, Administration and Equipment Costs: Cost breakdown is indicated in the following tables according to team ages:

2. Monthly Coaching Fee: This cost will depend on the age level of the team as follows:

3. Travel Costs: This cost will vary between teams and locations of tournaments. Cost will include tournament entry fees, per diem for coaches' expenses and any lodging/transportation costs for tournaments that are not in the Tampa/Orlando vicinity. An estimation based on the cost of last season’s tournaments is approximately $300 to $700. Teams not traveling out of state will be at the lower end of that estimate. Any out of state travel that requires plane fare will add to that cost.

Costs will increase with more out of state tournaments.

Tryout Dates

Tryouts for 14 and under:

Tryouts for 15 and older:

To determine a players age group, use the age of the player on September 1, 2008. This will be the age group you use for tryouts.

Tryout Requirements

Bring the following items to tryouts:

1. Your proof of AAU Membership for 2007-08. See below under AAU Registration for information on joining the AAU.

2. Your USAV Medical Release Form (Notarized). A notary will be present, but we are asking for this be completed before tryouts to save time.

3. A signed LAVA Tryout Waiver.

4. A copy of your Birth Certificate.
Please do not bring your original birth certificate. We require a copy of the original to be kept with your child's medical form.

Tryout fee of $50.00.
If paying by check, please make out to LAVA Volleyball.
 

USAV Registration

1. You will need to register with the USAV. Right now, there are some questions about how that will be done, so we will hold off until a later date.

2. Previous members should have received an E-mail from the regional office about renewing your membership online.

3. More information will be available at a later date in this section. Please check back often.

We will also send an E-mail to LAVA registered users when the information becomes available.


AAU Registration

1. Click on the logo for the AAU Registration web page.



2. Click on Join Now in the Athlete Category.

3. Fill out the information using the following club code FLVBC9YKB8 and selecting the $12.00 one year membership.

4. Print the confirmation E-mail you receive as this is your proof of membership.
 

Tournaments/Travel

Our goal is to play in two tournaments per month since most of the travel will be within the state of Florida. Younger age teams will likely compete in one-day tournaments.

In order to keep costs down, we will not be renting vans in state. Any potential out of state travel will be decided on a per case basis. Only teams that are 15 or older will be considered for out of state travel.


Practices

Most teams will practice 2-3 times per week. Practice length will not be longer than two hours. Practice times and locations will vary based on gym availability. We are planning to use the facilities at Kelly Recreation Complex and Simpson Park Community Center for the bulk of our training. At times, we will use Florida Southern, Southeastern College, Lakeland Senior High or other local gymnasiums.
